St George’s College students awarded Oxbridge places

St George’s College is congratulating five students who have received offers to study at the elite red brick institutions of Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

The students are due to begin their university careers this September. Helen Smith has been offered a place to read History at Wadham College, Oxford, while Raphael Malek hopes to take up his place reading Law. Alex Fisher has also secured a place at Oxford to read Engineering at Worcester College, while Richard Saunders was offered a place to read Natural Sciences at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Jennifer Hale, meanwhile, plans to take up Modern Languages at Homerton College, Cambridge.

The merits of post A Level applicant, Liam Fahy have also been merited and he has been placed in the pool to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge. He should receive a decision next week.

Head Girl, Helen Smith said: “I am thrilled to be offered the opportunity to study history at Oxford. I am really looking forward to focusing on my chosen subject as well as meeting lots of new people and spending my University years in such a historic and lively city.”

St George’s College Headmaster, Joe Peake, said: “We are very proud of each of the students’ achievements and successes, which are a result of their hard work.”
