St George’s College students are celebrating an A Level pass rate of 100% for both boys and girls for the third consecutive year. All students who took their A Levels at St George’s College passed, with 31 students gaining straight A’s in their A Levels - four of whom took four A Levels. The overall A grade score was 58% which is a huge increase on last year’s already high achievement of 40.2%.

Twelve of St George’s Lower Sixth students took the full Maths A Level a year early, with 10 students achieving A grades and two students achieving B grades.

Most of the students will be starting their first choice university in the new term, with the four medics gaining straight A grades and five of the 75 students who sat the exams will be starting at Oxbridge.

Joe Peake, Headmaster at St George’s College, said: “Recent coverage in the press has suggested that A Level exams are becoming easier, but the excellent results reflect the College’s high standards of education and the hard work and dedication of both the students and teachers.”

Margi Lamey, Head of Sixth Form at St George’s College, said: “I was delighted with the achievements of all our students. Throughout the year, we have been encouraged by the enthusiasm and efforts of the students which has now paid off as everyone has achieved fantastic results with boys achieving just as highly as the girls. We wish all the students every success in the future.”
