Following two days of physical tests and interviews at Loughborough in August Emma (who lives in Wimbledon) was one of only two children from across the country to be invited to join an elite squad of 20 boys and girls made up of international trampolinists between 14 and 21 years of age.

As number one in her age group for Great Britain, the current National Schools’ Champion and Ladies Trampoline Champion for London, has also been nominated for the “I eXcel Scheme” by the National Governing Body of Gymnastics and has been offered this scheme by the Performance Team at the Youth Sport Trust. The Trust, a charity responsible for promoting sport in schools and with an excellent reputation in supporting Gifted and Talented Performers is run from Loughborough University and has amongst its Sporting Patrons names such as Rob Andrew MBE, Sue Barker MBE, Lord Sebastion Coe KBE and Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE.

Speaking of Emma’s achievement, High Performance Coach Sarah Silvester from Kingston Trampoline Academy where Emma trains said, “Emma is a very talented athlete who, by being chosen for the World Class Development 2012 Squad and the ’I eXcel scheme‘, has been given well deserved recognition for all her hard work and determination.”
