St George’s College Celebrate 100% Pass Rate on GCSE Results Day

24 August 2006

St George’s College students are celebrating this morning after 100% gained 5 or more A*-C grades at GCSE.

The good news was capped with the outstanding achievement of three students, Richard Miller (Weybridge), Antonia Peart (Weybridge) and Anthony Fort (West Clandon) who all achieved 10 straight A* grades. A further 21 students gained straight A* and A grades whilst 25% of students gained an equivalent of six A* grades and four A grades.

Year 10 students at the College were also celebrating after 82% gained A* and A grades in Religious Studies and 95% of students who took French a year early (approximately a quarter of the year group) gained A* and A grades. It is the first year that St George’s College has entered students a year early for French GCSE.

Thirteen Year 11 students also took a Maths A Level module on top of their GCSEs and were all celebrating passes with six of the students gaining an A grade.

Headmaster, Joe Peake said. “I think it is a stunning set of results from a group of hardworking students. The vast majority now have a strong profile to carry on into our Sixth Form and aim for the top universities. I am extremely proud of the students and grateful to the teachers and parents who worked together in supporting them during this challenging time.”

St George’s College is a co-educational independent day school for 11-18 year olds. The school is situated in Weybridge, Surrey and attracts students from a 20-mile radius.
