Hockey Sixes tournament at St George’s College

On Wednesday 5th March St George’s College, Weybridge hosted the twenty-ninth annual inter-schools six-a-side hockey tournament, to which 28 schools attended from across the country.

After a great start, where the St George’s boys won the first two games, 3-1 to St Edwards, Oxford and 2-1 to Eastbourne, the team came up against fierce competition and lost or drew the next four games, after putting up a good fight to try and stay in the competition. St George’s lost 1-2 to Dean Close, drew 1-1 against RGS High Wycombe, lost 2-3 against Dr.Challoners and lost 1-2 against Desborough.

The Governors Cup Final was won by Dr Challoners who won 3-1 against Reeds and the Plate Final was won by Dean Close who won 3-2 against Framlingham. Simon Mason vice President of England Hockey presented the prizes to the winning teams.
