As another year for the Golf Society comes to an end I look back on three most enjoyable meetings which gave us three different winners.

Hayling Island saw 21 golfers enjoy brilliant weather, with the John Wilson Bowl being won by Adrian Macarty, with Bobby Burns and Pip Clothier in second and third places.

This year our meeting at New Zealand GC was held in early July and a field of 16 saw Robert Lee win the Richard Brooker Bowl with 42 points, from Adrian Macarty and Jim McCarthy.

Our final meeting at Hindhead GC saw a disappointingly small field of 13 compete for the St George’s College Weybridge Cup. This was won by our Captain Francis Hughes with 34 points, from Tim Lawrence and Hugh Burns.

Our match against Chislehurst GC resulted in a narrow defeat but the hoispitality of Chislehurst members was up to its usual high standard. Any one who hasn’t played in this fixture has missed a real treat.

Our Grafton Morrish team will be taking part in the Finals on the last weekend of September and we wish them a successful weekend.

We currently have 85 members but the Society is always looking for new members and provided you have a handicap you will be made very welcome.
