Old Georgian Sam Hodgson has illustrated a children's book
Sam Hodgson
Sam Hodgson (Old Georgian 2010) who is now at Bournemouth Art University has illustrated a traditional children’s book about the Christmas spirit. His detailed illustrations from original line drawings bring an extra level of charm and magic to the story.
A strong moral message is wrapped up in the story about Grubson Pug who wearily sets sail to find presents for his demanding and selfish children. Only the youngest child Henri has no material demands. Eventually after a long voyage, with many adventures, Grubson is welcomed back by the whole family who have realised that all they really want for Christmas is to have their father safely home.
Grubson’s Pug written by Jane-Anne Hodgson will be on sale at the Junior School Christmas Book Fair on the 24th and 25th November from 8.30 – 5.00. If you would like to buy a copy please contact Angela Disher (Junior School Librarian) ADisher@st-georges-college.co.uk . The cost of the book is £6.50.
